IELTS daily: Leave forty minutes for Task 2
Task 2 is worth more than Task 1. A perfect chart and an unfinished essay is a weak pair.
Spend about 20 minutes on Task 1 and about 40 on Task 2. If Task 1 is running long, write the overview and move on.
In Task 2, a plan of four lines takes two minutes and saves a paragraph that does not answer the question.
Leave three minutes to count sentences and fix the most obvious missing word.
- Set a 20-minute limit the next time you describe a chart.
- Write a four-line plan before the essay.
- Stop at 40 minutes even if you want another example.
