PTE daily: Leave a multiple-answer box empty when you are guessing

Questions with several answers score +1 for a correct choice and −1 for a wrong one, and the item never goes below zero.

Select the choices the text supports. A choice that adds a time, a number, or a closing that the text does not state is usually the trap.

One-answer questions are full marks or zero. Several-answer questions punish an extra tick. Two sure choices are better than four hopeful ones.

Listening versions use the script on the page as the recording.

  • Mark only the lines you can find in the text.
  • Re-read the choice that mentions a number.
  • If the result shows a wrong choice, read why that sentence is not in the source.
