IELTS daily: Match the letter tone to the reader
General Training Task 1 changes when you write to a friend or to a manager. The purpose stays in the first line either way.
Say why you are writing immediately. A complaint, a request, an invitation, and an apology are different letters, but each one should name its purpose.
To a friend, use “I” and a direct request. To a company, keep the same facts and drop the jokes.
Cover every bullet in the prompt. A missing bullet is a common reason a letter feels unfinished.
- List the bullets from the question.
- Give each bullet one or two sentences.
- End with the action you want.
