IELTS daily: Answer the Task 2 question in the first paragraph
An IELTS essay introduction should paraphrase the question and state your position. Background filler does not answer it.
Today’s IELTS note is for Writing Task 2. Read the question and decide whether you agree, disagree, or discuss both sides. The first paragraph should say that in your own words.
A memorised opening about “the modern world” fits every question and answers none of them. Replace it with the topic on the page.
This site’s practice questions are PTE tasks. Use this note for the essay shape, then write a PTE essay if you want a word-count check.
- Underline the instruction: agree, discuss, or give causes and solutions.
- Write a one-sentence position before any example.
- Check that the last paragraph repeats that position, not a new one.
This is a PTE Pro Lab study note. It is not a Pearson or IELTS announcement and not an official score.
