PTE daily: State what you would do first

Respond to a Situation is clearer when the first sentence is the action, not the apology.

Read the situation and decide the one thing you would say or do. Put that in the first sentence. Then add the time, place, or reason the prompt mentions.

Academic and Core both use this task. The words change, but the shape stays the same: action, detail, offer.

Recognised speech is what the portal scores. A polite opening with no action is a weak answer even if it sounds fluent.

  • Read the situation and circle the time and the place.
  • Start the recording with “I would…”.
  • Add one reason and stop.

This is a PTE Pro Lab study note. It is not a Pearson or IELTS announcement and not an official score.
