PTE daily: Keep the written summary to one sentence
Summarize Written Text must be one sentence of 5–75 words. A second full stop makes the form score zero.
Read the passage and choose the main idea, not an example. Write that idea as one sentence with one full stop at the end.
The portal checks the form: one sentence, inside the word limit. Grammar and the quality of the idea are not auto-graded. An admin can add a content mark later.
If you are over 75 words, cut the example. If you are under 5, you have not stated the idea.
- Draft the sentence in the box and watch the word count.
- Check that there is only one sentence.
- Submit, then look at the form note on the result.
