IELTS daily: Use the one-minute notes for Speaking Part 2

The cue card gives you the points to cover. Your notes only need a word for each point.

When the card says where, when, who, and why, write one word beside each. A full sentence in the notes leaves you no time to think of the story.

Start speaking with the point at the top of the card. If you forget a later point, describe the one you remember in more detail.

A memorised story about a different topic is obvious. Stay with the card you were given.

  • Pick a familiar place or person before test day, but do not memorise a script.
  • Practice turning four cue words into a one-minute talk.
  • Record yourself and stop at two minutes.

This is a PTE Pro Lab study note. It is not a Pearson or IELTS announcement and not an official score.
