IELTS daily: Add one reason in Speaking Part 1

Short answers are fine if they include a reason. “Yes” alone ends the conversation too early.

Part 1 questions are about familiar topics. Answer, then add because and one fact from your own week.

You do not need advanced vocabulary. You need a clear sentence the listener can follow.

If you do not do the hobby in the question, say so and mention what you do instead. Invention is harder to explain in the next question.

  • Answer five everyday questions aloud.
  • Add one reason to each.
  • Keep each answer to two or three sentences.

This is a PTE Pro Lab study note. It is not a Pearson or IELTS announcement and not an official score.
